Militias... Should we be concerned?

No I'm not talking about the National Guard. I speak of 100% citizen run and funded militias.
Check it out on YouTube. Search for militias, like the Ohio State militia. They are extremely well funded, well trained, and armed to the tooth.

They have sophisticated training facilities and equipment. Is this cause for alarm?
They claim to exist simply for the aid of local law enforcement agencies during times of emergency or for a time when the "constitution is needed to be defended from a tyrannical government".

I don't think our current government is tyrannical in any way, let alone any future government administration...
unless, like I stated in my previous post, some catastrophic event occurs. So why are there SO MANY militias forming, with numbers steadily increasing. Is something being planned that the majority of people are unaware of?

I seriously gotta get to work on that novel... this would make one epic movie

  1. Militias have always been around because people don't trust the government and want a option to fight back. I don't think they're much to be alarmed about.

  3. I understand, but I've noticed an exponential growth since the Obama administration came to power

People seriously believe this country would be handed over to a tyrannical ruler...

I'm noticing more and more BLIND fanaticism. There's nothing more dangerous than ignorant masses clinging to zealotry... so much room for destruction

  5. I figure I gotta write something

Think about this... how epic of a movie would it be to see the national guard taking on several local militias, anarchists and try to control nationwide rioting? Guerilla warfare, drama, drama, drama :)
I saw Children of Men and I fell in love... if only it was less scifi (sterility) and more government vs. the people

  6. Trust and the government in the same sentence. There's something you don't see very often!

  7. Yo, situation... I feel you on that. I really do, but we are already soooo dependent on tons of government programs and corporations...

How easily our society would collapse into chaos if suddenly there was no power, no water, no internet...
